  1. Firstly. I had no idea of your career background. This makes me even sadder that I didn’t have more opportunity to converse with you. Second, i’m Really looking forward to this book for so many reasons. Knowing you as an individual and what you went through is only a small part of that. My own loss is only another small part. Congratulations Dave, what an amazing thing to have done. Rebecca Jobling (previously Chambers)

    1. How lovely to hear from you Rebecca. I very much doubt if losing your gentle mum Sarah was a small part of anything. I never had much time for the ‘career’ word; everything is just a job really. I found that out for sure when they got rid of me!! Much love, Dave (Jobless) Marteau xx

  2. I am just ordering your book. I cannot attend the conference in August where you are speaking as I am away. My son Jacques/Jack died in March this year. Maybe you would consider speaking at my college as a writer.

    1. Thanks so much Andrea. It was great to meet you too. Your story about keeping vigil with and for your grandma will stay with me the rest of my days. I will definitely give ignatia a go! Dave M

  5. Dear Dave,
I was in the happy circumstance to read both versions your book. The concept first version and the one that you published. I’am deeply impressed. The book as it is now in its final version is so immense and offered me a lot of new insights! Your more personal approach is so strong and convincing! A must read for everyone who searches for a deepened insight in what it means having lost a beloved one. Personally i appreciated chapter; “If that’s Death, What is Life”, in particular. What a read was that! Followed by the last chapters made me even feel a bit unreal. I think it’s an absolute eyeopener getting a wider understanding when looking into our extraordinary existance. Much much respect & thank you for the book! ✨❤️✨ Erik Ps: I like to order a few more to give to relatives who I think can take advantage of the read.

    1. I’m just as impressed Erik, probably more so, that you can read such a detailed book in your second or even third language! Thanks for your kind words: that was my favourite chapter too! Dave
